teamwallis-CHH is a Youth Development cycling race team.

British Timetrial Champs, 5th Sept

Three of the team made the long trip down to Wales for the BTTC on the 5th Sept. A very high quality field of over 200 riders took to the circuit to test themselves against the best in their catergory. The team went mainly for experience, Martin took the driving on, to leave the talent fresh for the next day. Special mention must go to Dafydd's Uncle and Aunty for putting them all up at short notice. The day started early with us on the way by 8.30. All the bikes had to be checked over, to UCI rules, and all ours passed, a few people didn't and some resorted to hacksaws :0 ! Read more ...

Salt Ayre League Finale

The final event of Salt Ayre League for 2010, not counting to the League overall, was opened up to first category riders but Steve and Julian took them on and finished with an excellent result of Julian 6th and Steve 9th.
One north-west team put all their riders in to form an 8 man squad but still couldn't break the field with our guys, along with Ashley Finn, chasing down all the moves and forcing a bunch sprint finish where Julian took on the 1st cat seniors, beat many of them and finished 1st junior. National Junior Series 2010

Icing on the cake! due to a great season two of our Juniors are in the top ten of the prestigous BC National Junior Series, this is provisional, but Matt was 7th with Lewis 9th. A great effort and let's get three in next year ;)

Day three Junior tour of Wales

The final day saw all the main contenders in action with a break going from Josh Edmundson, and a counter containing Jack who rode superbly in the move supporting Matt. A great day of team riding by the boys followed, with all the riders doing their bit. It is a credit to all the team to put a first year in the top five with a young team, Jack, Jordan and Matt all being first years, with Lewis the 'old head'. A special mention goes to the support team of Roy, Dafydd, the lovely Stacey and Jordans Dad Adrian. Read more ...

CDNW Bashall Eaves

The CDNW race at Bashall Eaves saw some of the best riders in the country out in preparation for the Tour of Britain. Endura, Rapha Condor and Motorpoint were always going to make the E/1/2 race a tough proposition.

Andy Coupe, though, again showed his class and finished a fantastic 16th place, mixing it in style with the professionals. Read more ...

Junior tour of Wales Day 2

Day two saw the boys tackle a fast crit in the morning, just what you need after a double header the previous day! The support team got them focussed and into the action again. Lots of attacks and a brisk pace was the order of the race. Matt kept at the front thinking of the gc, and came home a great 7th place, Lewis was more active, trying to get in a move, and still finished a great 10th. Jack and Jordan being first years and learning about stage racing stayed in the bunch, and were 44th and 47th respectively. Read more ...

Junior Tour of Wales day 1

A very good quality field took to the startline for this race, with the top 100 juniors in the country. We had the team of Lewis, Matt and Jack, with Jordan Hargreaves as a guest, with a view to riding next year. The support was Roy, Dafydd and the lovely Stacey! First stage was a prologue tt, with a sting in the tail! Lewis was the highest of our men finishing 14th, then Matt 27th, then Jack 40th with our guest rider Jordan 70th.
The next stage was a hilly road race, more suited to mountain goats! Josh Edmundson won from a group Read more ...

Salt Ayre final event and round-up

The last SACA league event of the year was hotly contested by many riders whose aim was to gain vital points for the league. Even though it had been lashing down all day the circuit was reasonably dry due to strong winds. The days watering seemed to put a few riders off however and only a field of about 30 started. The pace was brisk from the off with a 3 man break making headway after 10 minutes racing. Although there was a strong team presence from a few local clubs the 3 man break maintained their advantage throughout the race. Read more ...

Preston Arena 26th Aug

A dry night for once at the last Preston Arena session of 2010.

All the teamwallis-CHH riders were doing well safely in the bunch until a crash saw a split in the field. While Andy Coupe and Jed were ahead of it, Grant and Andy Mc ended up in a group of 5 chasing back on. After doing a turn, Andy Mc slipped off this group just before it heroically made it back to the bunch.

Awaiting confirmation of all places, but we know that Grant got 5 points, so we think he's now a 3rd cat!

Tameside Circuit 25th, Aug

A smaller field at Tameside due to Nat Junior/Youth Champs at Newport Velodrome. This meant both racers together and a smart pace! Daff and Jack were in the thick of things, both causing pain by attacking off the front. Jack got away with three other riders, including a semi pro from team Corley. They stayed away together dropping the other riders and lapping the field. Jack was just pipped in the sprint by the other rider (junior gears!) With Daff in 5th. Grant lead home the other guys in 9th/10th and 11th.
